Introduction
We’re “In LOVE” and “All Shook Up,” so join us as we embark on a tantalizing exploration of global craft cocktails, classic tiki drinks, and everything in between, while our furry friends Rolo and Ruby enjoy the shaded patio and a quick escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.
A Cocktail Haven in Denver’s Front Range
Nestled in the scenic Front Range region of Lakewood, Colorado, just a few blocks from the fantastic hiking trails at Green Mountain, Ballmer Peak Distillery is a hidden gem that offers an unparalleled experience for cocktail enthusiasts. Jon and I first visited this distillery in our neighborhood when it opened in 2019. This tiny distillery has made leaps and bounds in the few short years it has been open and is serving up some seriously fancy and delicious craft cocktails. The cozy, mid century mod inspired tasting room serves up small batch spirits and cocktails. This local distillery boasts an impressive array of unique, fun, and delicious libations crafted by their head distiller and talented bartender. From the moment you step into the distillery, you’ll be transported to a world where expert mixology and canine companionship seamlessly blend together.
A Delightful Mixology Journey
Ballmer Peak Distillery takes great pride in their extensive selection of spirits, including an array of rums, vodkas, whiskeys, and gins, all made in-house. As a seasoned critic and connoisseur of craft cocktails, I can assure you that Eric Strom owner and papa to Basset-beagle, Fasha, Austin Adamson, the head distiller, and the bartenders at Ballmer Peak Distillery are true artists in their craft. Adamson has traveled extensively globally sampling delicious spirits and fine tuning how to craft delicious spirits. With their passion for mixology and creativity, Ballmer Peak Distillery continually pushes the boundaries to create cocktails that invoke flavors from around the globe.
Global Craft Cocktails and Classic Tiki Drinks
Prepare your taste buds for a global adventure as you explore the menu at Ballmer Peak Distillery. From an expertly blended and extensive list of classic and modern Mai Tais (doubles are served in ADORABLE tiki glasses) to smoky Old Fashioneds, each sip is a journey in itself, transporting you to distant lands. Upon guidance from the bartender, I took a trip back to my other hometown of Honolulu. The combination of the silver and golden rums, lime juice, macadamia nut syrup, and passion fruit foam in the Monkeypod Mai Tai had me swooning like a teenage girl at the 1957 Elvis concert at Honolulu Stadium. And lady, oh lady was the soft mouthfeel on this one as silky smooth as Elvis’ sweet sexy love making voice, and “That’s Alright ” with me!
Inviting Atmosphere with Canine Comfort
As canine connoisseurs, we ain’t nothin’ but hound dogs, but Ballmer Peak Distillery IS high class and IS a friend of ours. We know that being able to include our four-legged friends in our adventures makes them all the more memorable. While dogs are not allowed inside, at Ballmer Peak Distillery, Rolo and Ruby can lounge comfortably with us on the shaded patio as we indulge in our cocktail journeys. The distillery’s canine welcoming atmosphere creates the perfect setting for quality time with your furry friends allowing them to relax while you enjoy the craft cocktails (check out their adorable furry friends on their Instagram and Facebook pages). They have fun events like movies, trivia with 831 Trivia, fun runs that have benefited Foothills Animal Shelter, yoga, food trucks, and more. “Don’t be Cruel” and make your way over for some fun and zesty cocktails.
